Dansby Swanson Had a Fantastic Chicago Cubs Debut

In addition to everything else yesterday was, it was also the debut of the Chicago Cubs’ new $177 million shortstop. I don’t think Dansby Swanson is the type to feel the weight of that contract as added pressure, but debuting at home with your new team in front of a fan base that certainly recognizes your importance to whatever comes next – I mean, there’s some pressure there.

In conclusion, I love this thought from Swanson:

“Hearing ‘Go Cubs Go’ is a lot better when you’re on the team,” Swanson said.
