Yan Gomes is on a TEAR – He Just Hit Another Homer

Yan Gomes has long been a perfectly fine offensive catcher. It wasn’t what he was known for – the superlative work with pitchers and the glove are the things – but he generally wasn’t going to be a pitcher at the plate. At a career 90 wRC+, he was just a touch better than average for a catcher, actually.

Well, this year, the dude is on fire. Specifically, the last two+ weeks. Not only is his wRC+ approaching 200 over that span, he has homered FIVE TIMES including this 0-2 blast off of Blake Snell tonight:
