The Little Boy got to see the inside of Wrigley Field for the first time. He got to eat all the fixins. He got a shirsey and a hat. He even got to see himself up on the video board for a between-inning smile and camera wave. He was happy at the game today. That made me happy. It was a good day for dad.
Oh. Right. The baseball game. That part was not a good day for anyone except the Reds.
Well, let’s see. Christopher Morel had a particularly brutal game in right field BUT did get to break up the no-hitter in the 8th inning. Usually a bad sign when you’re leading with that combination of words.
The Reds were lining the ball all over early on, and without any help from the defense, Justin Steele’s day was short. Julian Merryweather and Javier Assad weren’t terrible from there, but the blowout was on.
