Grizzlies Have Top 10 Pick in 2024
The Grizzlies need to make a quality draft choice in 2024 as they hope to get back into the playoffs next season. The core of a team that has the potential to win a lot of games is still there with the likes of Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Jaren Jackson Jr. The issue remains can Morant stay on the court and will the team be able to add quality depth this offseason.
Morant played just 9 games in 2023-24 after missing the beginning of the season due to his suspension and the back half of the year thanks to a shoulder injury.

Have the Grizzlies Ever Had the No. 1 Pick?
The Grizzlies have never been lucky enough to have the number 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft. They have selected number 2 overall 5 times. They took Ja Morant in 2019, Hasheem Thabeet in 2009, Stromile Swift in 2000, Steve Francis in 1999, and Mike Bibby in 1998.
Francis was traded to the Rockets in the 1999 draft while Stromile Swift holds the most games played in a Grizzlies uniform with the group at 441. Ja Morant is second with 257 as he has averaged 22.5 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds in Memphis. He also won the Rookie of the Year and the Most Improved Player Award.
Grizzlies Recent Season Results
The Grizzlies joined the NBA in 1995 as the Vancouver Grizzlies before eventually moving to Memphis in 2001. The team has never played in the NBA Finals and its most successful season came in 2012-13 when Memphis reached the Western Conference Finals where they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs.
Since 2010, the franchise has found itself in the playoffs a fair amount reaching the postseason 10 times and winning at least 50 games 6 times. The franchise looked like it was ready to be a force with the likes of Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. but things have fallen apart after back-to-back 50-win seasons from 2021-23.
