Dillon Brooks Ejected After Hitting LeBron James Below the Belt

Chicago Bulls, NBA, News

During the 3rd quarter of Saturday night’s Game 3, the Memphis Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks was ejected after hitting LeBron James in the nooks and crannies.

Brooks backhanded the Lakers’ superstar in the midsection as James tried to dribble the ball up the court. James immediately hit the hardwood and stayed down in some pain. The refs swiftly went to review the play and proceeded to throw Brooks out of the game.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a player ejected for hitting below the belt during these playoffs. James Harden was ejected earlier this week after hitting Royce O’Neal in the same area.

For what it’s worth, Brooks also went into this game with some fighting words specifically for James. He called the NBA’s all-time leading scorer “old” and alluded to having plenty of confidence about his team’s matchup with the Lakers. James didn’t have much to say on Brooks’ commentary, stating that he isn’t here for “bullsh*t.”
