Fierceness Sits as Current Favorite
Fierceness has odds of 5-2 and is the current favorite to win the 2024 Kentucky Derby. Sierra Leone (3-1) and Catching Freedom (8-1) are close behind.
The favorite hasn’t won a Kentucky Derby since back in 2018 when Justify won the race. That year, Justify was 3-0 to start that season and ended up winning the Triple Crown. Fierceness has never raced at Churchill Downs. The horse is coming off an impressive win at the Florida Derby.

When is the 2024 Kentucky Derby?
You can check out the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 4. The 20 competitors should be out to the gates at around 6:45 pm ET. The gates for the event open at 9 am ET while the First Post is at 10:30 am ET.
You can watch the race on NBC or use their Peacock streaming service to catch the event. Martha Stewart is the Grand Marshal of this year’s event. Last year, Kansas City Chiefs star-quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the Grand Marshal. Other Grand Marshals in the past decade have included actor Jeff Bridges, rapper Jack Harlow, and NFL coach Sean Payton.
