Mystik Dan Looks To Take Preakness Aftering Winning Derby
Does Mystik Dan have what it takes to win the Triple Crown? After winning the 2024 Kentucky Derby, the Stakes is next up on the list of the three biggest races of the year. There hasn’t been a Triple Crown winner since 2018 when Justify accomplished the feat. Before that American Pharoah was a Triple Crown winner in 2015.
13 horses in total have won the Triple Crown with Sir Barton being the first to ever do it back in 1919 despite the phrase not being used at that point. Some journalists started using the term in 1923 but it wasn’t until 1930 that the phrase became commonly used.
