Cabinets, Jars, Drawers … You Name it and New Giants’ Closer Mark Melancon Can Close It!

Funny and Happy

There has certainly been an increase in promos lately, hasn’t there?

Not only that, the quality, cleverness, and hilarity has been amped way up. And the following San Francisco Giants’ commercial, I must say, is one of the better ones I’ve seen yet.

In case you didn’t know that’s new Giants’ closer Mark Melancon sneaking around San Francisco closing things. File cabinets, pretzel jars, trunks, doors … you name it and Melancon can close it!

Melancon spent most of his Major League career closing games out for the Pirates, but he was traded to the Nationals half-way through last season, before becoming a free agent this past winter. After shopping around, he signed a massive 4-year/$62 million deal with the Giants.

If it weren’t for the ridiculously enormous (record-breaking, in fact) deals signed by Aroldis Chapman (Yankees – 5-years/$86 million) and Kenley Jansen (Dodgers – 5-years/$80 million), Melancon’s deal would’ve been one of the largest ever for a closer.

So yeah, they’re hoping he can close a thing or two.

Fortunately, he seems to be pretty good at it.
