Last night, Kris Bryant hit his 39th minor league home run this year, which is nuts.
It was one of those casual-looking, opposite-field bombs:
You don’t get to 39 homers in a minor league season without a ton of power, but Bryant seems to show just how much effortless power he has on every swing.
A couple days earlier, Bryant hit his 38th:
I love when I see the 415 foot sign enter the frame as a Bryant shot goes sailing by.
The homers were Bryant’s 16th and 17th at Iowa, good for 18th in the league. You know, despite playing only 52 games in the PCL so far. Which reminds me:
2 months after Kris Bryant's last Smokies game, Scott Schebler has finally passed Bryant for the Southern League HR lead. Schebler w/ 23 now

On the year, between AA and AAA, Bryant is hitting .341/.448/.689, and priming folks to be over-the-moon excited for his eventual big league debut. In April.
He’ll wind things down with Iowa in late August/early-September (if they do the playoff thing), and then he may just get some rest after his first full season of pro ball. Sure, he’ll do some work in Arizona at some point, but I’m not sure if Bryant will play in an offseason league.
