Well. That got out of hand.
Tsuyoshi Wada pretty much did his thing – including giving up a three-run bomb, which projects to be the primary thing that could really bite him in his starts from time to time – and wasn’t too bad. Obviously you’d like to see more than three Ks in six innings of work, and fewer than 3 BBs.
From there, the bullpen was evenly mixed in the sense that Wesley Wright and Carlos Villanueva threw scoreless frames, and Kyuji Fujikawa and Zac Rosscup threw completely imperfect somethings. Offensively, the Cubs were mostly held down by Marco Gonzalez, who may have just had his first decent start in the bigs. Natch.
