Just yesterday, we learned about the importance of running out every single play. Along with keeping your eye on the ball and using two hands to catch a pop-fly, that’s one of the first rules they teach you in Little League.
Well, just a day later, we’re reminded of yet another Little League rule, only this time, the Major Leaguers did it absolutely right.

That’s a perfect relay from start to finish. Not only did Springer get to that ball after just one bounce, he also made a strong throw to the cut-off man, Correa. Then, Correa turns with a perfect transfer and fires a rocket to the plate where the catcher, Evan Gattis, applies a quick tag.
And it’s not like the runner, Chad Pinder, is some old slow veteran. He’s a quick 25-year-old middle infielder. He can run. Just not fast enough.
Fundamentals, people. They matter.
