Just before the first pitch of the 2018 MLB season, I (regrettably) tweeted out the following bet/promise:
If Ian Happ leads off today's game with a home run, I will jump in Lake Michigan later today.
— Michael Cerami (@Michael_Cerami) March 29, 2018
Sure enough, Ian Happ homered on the first pitch of the game, and I went swimming in Lake Michigan … it was freezing.
Well, several days ago, when the Braves had not yet been eliminated, a brave fan tweeted out a similar promise, but with even higher stakes. With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 2nd inning on Sunday, she tweeted …
If Acuña slams this I will tattoo his face on my forearm NO LIE #ForEachOther

Well, guess what Acuna did? He became the youngest player in postseason history to hit a grand slam!

But Caitlin followed through, and showed up at the tattoo parlor just four days later:

And I think the final product was well worth it:
I tweeted, it happened, I did it. NO LIE. Thank you so much @baileysouthside and @MysticOwlTattoo!!! @Braves @ronaldacunajr24 @BleacherReport @Cut4 @MLBNetwork pic.twitter.com/d5qtB8viW9

Way to go, Caitlin. You’re one hell of a fan.
