The Mack attack will reportedly be back on Sunday:

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter told the Kirk and Callahan show in Boston that the plan is for Khalil Mack to suit up and play for the Chicago Bears against the New England Patriots on Sunday. And because positive vibes are our thing today, Bob LeGere of Pro Football Weekly tweets Mack practiced (as a limited participant) on Friday and is questionable for Sunday’s game. That’s good news for a Bears defense that needs all hands on deck if they want to disrupt a Patriots offense engineered by Tom Brady that is averaging 29.3 points per game.
Mack suffered an ankle injury in the Bears’ Week 6 loss to the Dolphins, was listed as day-to-day earlier in the week, and showed up on the first two injury reports as not having practiced. As it stands right now, we’re looking at the best case scenario for Chicago (which was to rest Mack and allow him ample recovery time before game day) having played out. Yippee!
Even in a limited state, Mack practicing and the simple expectation of him being available to play should lift everyone’s spirits. And while there is some concern about how much Mack will play and how effective he’ll be (let’s face it, an ankle injury is a pretty big deal for a pass-rusher), that Mack is expected to be in the mix has me feeling better about Sunday than I previously did. And that counts for something.
