I’ve gotta give the hat tip to Darren Rovell (and Mark Walton) for passing this on, because I wasn’t aware:

Sure enough, this is happening, and it looks like it’s going to be incredible. The Red Sox describe the event this way:
Fenway Park will host a big air snowboarding and freeskiing U.S. Grand Prix tour event on February 11-12, 2016. “Polartec Big Air at Fenway” will feature a 140-foot high snow ramp, taller than the light towers at the ballpark, and bring in athletes from around the world including Olympic and World Champions.
As a U.S. Grand Prix and part of the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) World Cup tour, Polartec Big Air at Fenway will include many of the top big air competitors including Olympic slopestyle skiing gold medalist Joss Christensen, slopestyle snowboarding Olympic champion Sage Kotsenburg and Olympian Ty Walker.
That really sounds awesome, especially against the backdrop of one of the most iconic stadiums in all of sports. The giant ramp, itself, is nearing completion, and you can watch the time-lapsed construction in this great video:

So … next stop, Wrigley Field? Ramp starts on the rooftops and heads towards home plate?
