The Chicago Bears have fallen on tough times, but that doesn’t have seemed to sway the opinions of oddsmakers in Las Vegas:

The Bears opened as 6-point favorites in their Week 8 game against the Jets, but the line has since moved to 7. For the point spread to move a full point in 24 hours suggests the wagering public’s faith in Chicago’s football club has not wavered despite the recent skid, even if some feelings have changed locally.
Back-to-back losses to the Dolphins and Patriots have killed the momentum of a 3-1 start, stifled optimism in some corners of the Bears’ fandom, knocked the team out of first place, and kicked them all the way down to the cellar of the NFC North. And yet, our friends in the desert still believe the Bears are capable of beating lesser-talented teams that are on their schedule. Soon, it will be time for the Bears to justify their optimistic point of view.
Should the Bears find a way to win the final two games in the AFC East-centric part of the schedule, it will put Chicago’s record at 5-3 at the midway point of the season. The good vibes will flow again and positive momentum will be on the up-tick.
It’s going to be a climb for the Bears to get back to the top, but so much is possible over the final 10 weeks of the regular season. But since we are believers in the idea that small setbacks are launching points for major comebacks, it’s fair to enter this week with a tinge of hope. And it’s understandable if you’re not feeling it, but know that the oddsmakers don’t share your lack of faith.
