RB Prospect Devin Singletary is Looking Forward to His THIRD Meeting with the Bears

To state that the Chicago Bears appear interested in running back Devin Singletary would be an understatement. Indeed, the team is set to conduct a private workout with him on Wednesday – representing the third and latest meeting between the Bears and Singletary this offseason.

If you recall, Chicago formally met with Singletary (and almost every other running back in Indianapolis) at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and hosted him on a visit in March. That’s a whole lot of interest in the Florida Atlantic product.

At this point, the Bears are the only team to have hosted Singletary for a visit and private workout. And it seems like Singletary is definitely feeling the love: “I definitely feel like I’ve gotten to know that staff better than the others,” Singletary told NFL.com. “I’m looking forward to seeing those guys again. I think they love my game and they know I can run the ball. They know I can catch, too, but they want to see me run some more routes.”

Check it out. A skill position player on the offensive side of the ball who is looking forward to meeting with the Bears’ offensive brain-trust. What a time to be alive!

Singletary is one of the NFL Draft’s top running back prospects and projects to be one of the best available players on the board when the Bears finally go on the clock in Round 3 with the 87th pick. During his college career at FAU, Singletary racked up 4,289 rushing yards, scored 66 touchdowns, and averaged 6.0 yards per carry. Singletary also added 51 catches and 397 receiving yards in addition to picking up 284 yards on 13 kick returns.

Big-time production at the college level has Singletary on the Bears’ radar, but it’s not a coincidence that he mentioned a need to show he can be a potential difference-maker in the passing game during his upcoming work out with the team. If Singletary can “wow” some Bears decision-makers, it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear his name called when the team gets a chance to pick.
