White’s Hair Gives Him “Powers”, Young’s Momentum (But Awkward Fit), Bucks Clinch, and Other Bulls Bullets

I know sports talk shows do this in various forms, but I think I’d love to watch (or participate in) an event staged like the Presidential Debates, but about sports. We’d have a moderator read topics like “can Zach LaVine be a winning player” and then we all get like 45 seconds to go to town, respond, hit our stump speeches, etc. I think it’d be great. Nothing is better than a good sports debate.

So … who wants to invest in this idea with me? We’ll go around America and have the 2020 Sports Take Debate.

  • ICYMI: COBY WHITE HAS ARRIVED, AND HE’S GOING TO SAVE THE CHICAGO BULLS! All right, I’m totally kidding, but what the rookie did this weekend was pretty darn impressive!
  • According to White himself, we have his hair to thank for his back-to-back 33-point performances: “Yeah. It gives me powers. That’s what everybody says. It’s kind of my trademark,” White told ESPN’s Eric Woodyard after last night’s victory. YOU’RE DARN TOOTIN’. I think all of we’re waiting for that profile on White’s luscious locks, so shoutout to Woodyard for writing it up. The ponytail look isn’t exactly the same as the bouncy and voluminous fro, but, I’m a simple man, and I’ll take what I can get. And for those out there who say White’s hair doesn’t actually help with his game (you’re totally right), just think about how distracted you’d be if that gorgeous mane came flying at you on the basketball court!
  • The goal moving forward for White on the offensive end isn’t to keep posting 30+ points a night (though, I wouldn’t mind it), but to instead display better decision-making and shooting efficiency. Despite his 50+ percent shooting performances from the field and downtown the last two nights, he’s still shooting only 38.0 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from behind the arc. He’s been able to score in double-digits in eight of the last ten games, but now it’s time to see if he can shoot at a higher clip, while also getting his fair share of shots up.
  • Oh, yeah! Zach LaVine became the franchise leader for 3-pointers made in a single-season last night (174). He continued the strong play we’ve seen all season long with another quality performance against buddying All-Star snub Bradley Beal.
  • Thaddeus Young has been playing his best ball of the season. He scored a season-high 23 points last night and has now scored in double-figures in 12-straight games. To no surprise, those 12 games make all but one of his starts this season. The increased play just goes to show the veteran forward has a lot left in the tank. However, it also emphasizes just how awkward a fit this is for the Bulls. When healthy, Lauri Markkanen is the clear starting option for this team, and Young has now shown he needs a starting role (and minutes) to truly get in a groove and be the best version of himself. Perhaps Young can carry the momentum from this stretch into his bench role, but it’s hard to say this situation is going to get any easier to figure out for the Bulls.
  • Aw, Bradley Beal looks so upset!
  • Oh, that’s why!
  • Congrats to the Milwaukee Bucks for clinching the playoffs on *EYES POP OUT OF HEAD* FEBRUARY 23RD!?

  • I’ve thought about this basically every time he calls a timeout.
  • If the Bulls were converting on these timeouts, then he would have at least a small case for calling them. Well, he’s not, and they look super ridiculous.
  • Good … Coby White will dominate them all!
  • Zach LaVine is still better. Happy Birthday though.
