Over the years, the Chicago Bears have allowed defensive players to try their hand at offense every now and again.
And from time to time, they create memorable moments. Heck, some have even scored touchdowns!
Now, Eddie Jackson wants in on the action:

In an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” program, Jackson made his plea to Bears Head Coach Matt Nagy to get some offensive snaps.
“Coach, you know I’ve been asking you since you walked in the building. All I need is two or three plays, coach. Just two or three plays,” Jackson said. “Put a little package in there. You know, get a little disguise. Throw Mack in there, Akiem in there. It’s just an opportunity. If I mess it up, you don’t gotta put me in there. You can take all the packages out.”
Of course Jackson thinks he can play on the offensive side of the ball. Look no further than Jackson’s five defensive touchdowns for evidence that he knows what to do when he gets his hands on the pigskin. It’s just that those opportunities are going to come less often as teams avoid throwing in his direction. And, let’s face it, the Bears’ offense could use as much help as possible.
So what’s there to lose?
For what it’s worth, Jackson played two offensive snaps in 2018. So it’s not as if giving him a shot on the other side of the ball is unprecedented.
Just two or three plays, coach!
That’s not a big ask. Is it? I certainly don’t think so!
