The last injury report of the week tends to be the most revealing. And when it comes to the Chicago Bears, there’s plenty of good news to take from the latest update.
Defensive lineman Akiem Hicks was a full-go at Saturday’s practice. This comes after two missed practices due to illness. That the illness wasn’t related to COVID-19 is a relief, as was news that he was able to fully participate in practice. Hicks, who has 3.5 sacks, 6 tackles-for-loss, and 10 QB Hits in six games, will fly with the team and play on Monday against the Rams.
Pass-rusher Khalil Mack practiced in a limited capacity on Saturday. Mack is listed as questionable to play, but the expectation is that he will be a full-go. Head Coach Matt Nagy described Mack’s back issue as soreness and didn’t seem concerned about it. Ultimately, limited participation is an upgrade from not practicing. In the end, that’s good news.

Joining Mack as questionable to play on Monday Night Football are Deon Bush (hamstring), Rashaad Coward (finger), Sherrick McManis (hamstring), Buster Skrine, and Jason Spriggs (thumb/back). It’s good to see guys like Bush, Coward, and Nichols participate fully in practice. Heck, even seeing Skrine upgraded to limited after not practicing earlier in the week is a step in the right direction.
We’ll monitor the situation for further updates as the team prepares its trek to California. In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
