The Chicago Bears’ quarterback search figures to be an exhausting one. And in more ways than one, too.
Buuuut I don’t think this is what GM Ryan Pace had in mind when he said “everything’s on the table” when it comes to the position:

LOL. Andrew Luck is not an option for the Bears’ quarterback position. And pursuing him would land somewhere between a fool’s errand and ‘Netflix’ hoax documentary.
Fun storyline to dream on, if you want to eff around, though. Luring the 2012 NFL Draft’s first overall pick out of retirement to lead a hapless franchise that has failed at finding a QB at every turn to Super Bowl glory is the type of stuff Hollywood writers dream of when writing scripts. And it’s the same stuff Hollywood execs laugh out of the room for being too unrealistic.
Luck, 31, retired before the start of the 2019 season. In fact, you might recall Luck’s retirement was first reported during the Bears-Colts preseason game. So the symmetry of Luck returning to play for the Bears would be all sorts of fun. But it ain’t happening, no matter what Mike Tannenbaum suggests.
And one more note for the road. Contrary to popular belief out East, Chicago isn’t called “The Second City” because it’s a dumping ground for New Yorkers to discard their unwanted junk. So don’t let me catch you slipping, and don’t ever think for one moment that I’m not from Chicago – I will not put you in your place for treating this city’s sports franchises as your dumping ground for unwanted failed projects. (Darnold is better used as a vehicle for the Bears to do other things …. )
