This will keep happening until the NHL smartens up and pauses the season for everyone. The league announced today that the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators will be shut down through Christmas due to the ongoing spike of COVID cases throughout the league.

The Bruins and Predators join the list of NHL teams to be shut down that started with the Flames, Avalanche, and Panthers. Additionally, the Vancouver Canucks have postponed their next two games against the Maple Leafs and Coyotes.

The Blackhawks just played the Predators last night, a team that already had over a dozen players, coaches, and staff in COVID protocol. It continues to be misguided and irresponsible for the league to try to plow through the rising COVID cases and continue to play games with teams having depleted lineups and travel.
We shall see if and when the league calls for a pause to the season, which seems inevitable at this point.
