Unusual circumstances for an ejection tonight, as Cubs manager David Ross was ejected after a discussion with the third base umpire that appeared to be about not-called balks on Carlos Carrasco.
It didn’t seem all that animated, and the broadcast didn’t quite show the full scope of what might’ve been shouted from the dugout. But Ross came out, mid-at-bat, and was clearly talking about balks. I think he thought Carrasco wasn’t coming fully to set?
It was all just kinda weird, because it seemed like Ross came out, had a conversation about balks – a little bit of angry face – and then left the game.
