Tensions were already high after yet another loss to the Green Bay Packers. But, come on, no, Justin Fields’ postgame commentary wasn’t ripping on Chicago Bears fans.
Nevertheless, Fields’ words caused a firestorm of backlash that brought additional fuel to the fire.
And because they did, Fields felt the need to discuss it during his Wednesday press conference:
I didn’t think much of the initial comments. But for the sake of clarity, today’s apology was nice. It’s always nice to kiss and make up. We’re all on good terms now, right? cool.
All right. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, this is water under the bridge. Period.
Fields was clearly worked up over losing. And after as much losing as the Bears have done over the last two seasons, I can’t say I blame him for wearing it. But it’s time to take that energy and put it toward winning. Let’s start with Sunday against the Texans.
