Tory Taylor, the University of Iowa punter, figured to be the first special teams player to be taken in the draft. And with the Chicago Bears having notable punting issues last year, the fit was perfect. Almost too perfect.
The idea of drafting a punter in the fourth round is blasphemous in the eyes of some. But, hey, the San Francisco 49ers did it in pretty recently. And it hasn’t stopped the Niners from making two Super Bowl appearances since taking Mitch Wishnowsky in Round 4 (with pick No. 110 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. But the Bears aren’t the 49ers. And with the Bears’ needs being what they were, it didn’t necessarily look like it was meant to be — especially with Chicago having just one Day 3 pick entering Saturday’s final day.
But then, it went down. The Bears chose Tory Taylor with their fourth-round pick. Perhaps the power of manifestation was behind this happening:
And to think, Tory Taylor wasn’t alone in manifesting his way into the Chicago Bears draft plans.
Kiran Amegadjie joins Tory Taylor in wishing his way onto the Bears
The Kiran Amegadjie story is going to be fun to follow. Chicago’s third-round pick, an offensive tackle who played collegiately at Yale, is a Hinsdale native. Last year, Amegadjie ran into Matt Eberflus at a golf club that his dad is a member at and told the Bears head coach that he would be looking to draft him. Talk about calling your shot! Here is Amegadjie re-telling the story last night after being drafted by his hometown team:
“This is something I’ve been dreaming about for so long. And something that I wanted to happen and it happened. Honestly, I can’t even believe it. I don’t even know if this is real or if I’m dreaming.”
Pinch yourself, rookie. Blink twice. Take a breath. And then realize this is real. You are a member of the Chicago Bears. Not everyone gets to live their dreams. But I love it when folks get that opportunity.
Some people believe in the power of manifestation.
Others don’t.
I do believe that you can manifest greatness. Or whatever you want, for that matter.
And I am more of a believer after seeing that two of the newest Bears deployed the power of manifestation before being selected by the team during the 2024 NFL Draft.
Now … how about we manifest some division titles, conference championships, and Super Bowl wins?
