The Chicago Bears used their first pick on quarterback Caleb Williams and their second on wide receiver Rome Odunze. So it makes sense to see the Bears continue their offseason trend of building around the quarterback with their third pick.
Yale offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie joins the Bears as the No. 75 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft:

Kiran Amegadjie is going to take some time to get used to from a typer’s muscle-memory standpoint. But if I can figure out Samardzija and Iyiegbuniwe, then I can do the same for Kiran Amegadjie. And I think it’ll be worth it, too. Amegadjie is an interesting offensive line prospect who enters the mix of depth in Chicago.
Some early thoughts on new Bears offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie
Here is a snippet from the Kiran Amegadjie NFL Draft profile:
With a rare blend of athletic traits and eye-popping length, it might be a mistake to bet against the high number of boxes Amegadjie checks. His hand usage is a work in progress, and he hasn’t learned to consistently get into blocks with proper footwork and body control, but both issues are coachable and likely to be corrected. Provided he improves his punch-timing and placement, his ability to keep rushers at the end of his length could become a big advantage. Amegadjie already possesses impressive explosiveness as a drive blocker and could become a quality NFL starter once his tutelage is complete.
I’m #NotAScout, but I love the tandem of athleticism and size. Offensive line prospects who are 6-5 and 323 pounds with 36 1/8-inch arms don’t grow on trees. Considering that Bears GM Ryan Poles bet on size and traits with the Braxton Jones pick back in 2022, I’m willing to give him some leeway with this selection, too.
Frankly, I love that the Bears continue building out their offensive line. And with this pick, they’re adding a Yale guy. We’ve been wanting this franchise to play a smarter brand of football. They don’t get much smarter than Yale products. Plus, there is an interesting back story that comes with the Hinsdale native:

We’ll dig in more on Kiran Amegadjie later. But at first blush, I like what Offensive Line Coach Chris Morgan will get to work with once he gets his hands on Amegadjie this season. If you’re someone who ends up at training camp this summer, you can likely catch me keeping tabs on Amegadjie and the rest of the offensive linemen.
