Sam Bernero has an eagle-eye and a steady camera, so when there are players newly in town around Wrigley Field, she is frequently the first person to have it.
So it is today, with the return of Keegan Thompson to Wrigley Field:
Ah. Well, on the one hand, I am totally fine with Keegan Thompson being back in the bullpen. He mostly has looked good, and it feels like he could be back on track this year.
But on the other hand, since he was just optioned, he could be coming back this soon ONLY if he were replacing someone going on the Injured List. Otherwise, once optioned, a pitcher cannot come back up for at least 15 days. So, yeah. Somebody’s hurt. Stay tuned.
