Credit the Bears and general manager Ryan Pace for doing their due diligence on Myles Garrett on the day of Texas A&M’s pro day, but it would take an unforeseen scenario for Chicago to land the draft’s consensus top prospect.
Garrett is the total package. He is a game-changing defensive specimen who had 8.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles in his junior season before declaring for the NFL Draft. Garrett missed some time due to ankle injuries in 2016, but it didn’t stop him from being named to the First-Team All-SEC team and unanimous All-American in 2016.
His three years on campus were epic as Garrett racked up 31 sacks, 47 tackles for loss, and forced seven fumbles. Those are monster numbers from a freak athlete. Just take a look at him run.

Garrett reportedly ran an unofficial 4.61 in the 40-yard dash on Thursday, according to the NFL Network. That’s an amazing time that turns out to be better than highly rated Florida cornerback prospect Teez Tabor, who was timed in the high 4.7 range at Florida’s recent pro day.
Simply remarkable.
There is power, speed, agility, and versatility in Garrett’s game. No wonder every mock draft has the Browns picking him as their top choice in the draft.
