Here’s your heart-warming story of the day, involving Cubs pitching prospect Tanner Griggs. The 20-year-old righty was the Cubs’ 12th round pick in 2014, and had a short, decent debut at Rookie Ball last year. But if you ask him, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t that debut or anything else he’s done on the field – it was helping to save a man’s life.

That’s just incredible poise from a young man in a very intense situation. He did the right things, helped in the right ways, and helped save a life.
Hopefully Griggs accomplishes some great things on the field in 2015, but it’s going to be tough to top that. Well done.
