The Cubs’ budding defensive magician (he’s great on the bases, too (and improving at the plate)) was so popular as the Cubs went on their championship run that Javy Baez jerseys were among the top five best sellers in all of baseball.

And now you’ll see his name even more, as the City Council today approved an honorary “Javier ‘Javy’ Baez Way” along the west side of West Luis Munoz Marin Drive in Humboldt Park (DNAinfo). The street goes right next to a replica of Wrigley Field, called Little Cubs Field, so the placement is wholly appropriate.
Here’s hoping Baez frequently stops by his namesake street and shows kids there how you play the game, and how you have fun:
