On the heels of a disappointing weekend in Boston, the Chicago Cubs were on the verge of an especially disappointing first night in New York. Mets starter Luis Severino was no-hitting them into the 8th inning. Ugly.
But not only did the Cubs break up the no-hitter that inning, they also tied the game, and went on to win it in the 9th on the strength of Christopher Morel’s two-run homer. Enjoy:
