Round 1, Pick 20: Graham Barton, OL, Duke
The offensive line has been a major concern for the Steelers in recent seasons. With the 20th pick, they prioritize this need by selecting Graham Barton, a versatile offensive lineman from Duke.
Barton is a plug-and-play prospect who can play multiple positions on the offensive line. He possesses the size and athleticism to excel at tackle, but his experience lining up at guard adds valuable versatility. His strong work ethic and dedication to film study make him a coachable player who can adapt quickly to the NFL.
More importantly, Barton displays the physical tools necessary to succeed in the trenches. He has the strength to anchor against bull rushes and the footwork to neutralize speed rushers. His long arms and powerful hands allow him to control defenders at the point of attack, creating a clean pocket for the quarterback and running lanes for the running backs.
While the Steelers haven’t declared their future plans at quarterback, investing in the offensive line is paramount regardless of their decision. Round 2, Pick 51: T.J. Tampa, CB, Iowa State

Tampa is a ball-hawking corner with exceptional instincts and a knack for making plays on the football. He possesses good size and displays impressive closing speed. Round 3 (Pick 84): Javon Baker, WR, UCF
The Steelers moved on from Diontae Johnson but have a long history of drafting and developing eventual multi-year starts outside of the first round. Javon Baker, a dynamic wide receiver from UCF, fits the bill perfectly in the third round.
Baker flashed big-play ability, averaging 21.9 yards per reception last year at UCF. He creates separation with crisp cuts and precise changes of direction, making him a nightmare for defenders to cover in man-to-man situations. While not a burner, Baker possesses enough speed to create separation on intermediate routes. Additionally, he showcases impressive contested-catch ability, making him a reliable target in the red zone.
Adding Baker provides the Steelers with a much-needed complement to George Pickens. Baker’s skillset allows them to diversify their passing game and exploit different defensive coverages.
Round 3 (Pick 98): Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia
The Steelers have a long-term question mark at center. Selecting Sedrick Van Pran, a talented center from Georgia, adds depth and competition to the interior of their offensive line.
Van Pran is a technically sound center that excels in zone-blocking schemes. He possesses the intelligence and awareness to make line calls and ensure proper protection schemes are executed. His strong core and lower body strength allow him to anchor against powerful defensive tackles, limiting penetration and creating space for the running back.
