Colts 1st Round Options
The Colts might be looking at defense early as they have needs at safety, cornerback, and in the pass rush. There are several cornerbacks that could be available and would be a good fit such as Alabama’s Terrion Arnold, Iowa’s Cooper DeJean, and Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell. All provide a solid cover corner to add to the secondary.
Now, if the Colts reach number 15 and there is an elite pass rusher available, we could see them pulling the trigger on an edge rusher like Jared Verse from Florida State.

Colts 2023 Season Recap
The 2023 season ended in a heartbreaking 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans that sent the Colts to 9-8 and kept them from a playoff berth. Anthony Richardson started just 4 games at quarterback due to injuries so Gardner Minshew II took over to go 7-6 while throwing for 3,305 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor played in just 10 games and ran for 741 yards while Zack Moss was the team’s leading rusher at 794 yards. At wideout, Michael Pittman Jr. was the top option with 1,152 yards and 4 touchdowns for an offense that was 10th in points and 15th in total yards.
The defense wasn’t particularly great in 2023 as it ranked 28th in points against and 24th in total yards. Zaire Franklin had an absurd 179 tackles to lead the team while EJ Speed was second on the team with 102 while having a team-high 12 tackles for loss.
Samson Ebukam had 9.5 sacks and Kwity Paye had 8.5 to pace the pass rush while safety Julian Blackmon led the secondary with 4 interceptions and 8 pass deflections. Cornerback Kenny Moore had 3 interceptions and 2 return touchdowns on the year.
