The Chicago Bears have retained depth to go with the strength of the team’s group of interior offensive linemen.
Eric Kush signed a two-year deal to remain with the Bears. A sixth-round pick (170th overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 out of California (Pa.), Kush played three games (one start) in Kansas City before bouncing around the league spending time with the Rams, Buccaneers, and Panthers before signing with the Bears in 2016, where he played in eight games and made four starts at guard.
Kush was on the list of 18 Bears who were projected to become unrestricted free agents this offseason. The group included five other linemen, but only Ted Larsen started more games in 2016.

Kush earned a 69.6 grade from Pro Football Focus in limited time, playing a total of 279 snaps as he carved out a valuable reserve role for himself along the offensive line.
With the ability to start in a pinch or come off the bench as an extra lineman or substitute for an injured player at multiple positions, re-signing Kush allows the Bears to retain some depth for a group of offensive linemen that saw starters Kyle Long (missed eight games) and Josh Sitton (missed four games) miss significant time with various injuries.
