Move Over Myles Garrett, There Is A New Top NFL Draft Prospect (Says One Pundit)

Chicago Bears

It has long been believed that Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett was locked in to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, but is it possible he isn’t the best prospect of this class? analyst Bucky Brooks believes this to be the case, naming LSU safety Jamal Adams as the draft’s best prospect.

Yes, the same Jamal Adams who has been tied to the Bears in numerous mock draftsfits a long-standing Bears need at a position that has been seemingly impossible to fill, and could make a compelling case to be a top-5 lock. There isn’t a much higher place for Adams’ stock to go at this point, except all the way to the top.

Brooks has been sold on Adams as a prospect for quite a while, but his recent running of the 40 in the 4.3 range sealed the deal for this draft analyst.

Adams already owns superb instincts, intangibles, coverage skills, and tackling ability to go along with three years of quality production in the SEC, college football’s most talent-heavy conference. So to add high-end athleticism to the mix — even if it doesn’t always stand out — makes Adams that much more intriguing as a prospect.

Safety is a position of need for the Bears and one of depth for this draft class. Adams might be the best of this bunch and projects to be a starter with the potential to impact games from Day 1. He projects to be a playmaker in the secondary, which would be nice to have when facing Aaron Rodgers twice a year.
