Mitch Trubisky Feels “Salty” After Finding Out His Madden Rating

Chicago Bears News

If the release of the Madden NFL video games is like Christmas, then the sharing of rookie ratings is something like the big shopping build up.

EA Sports released a video of NFL rookies ranking themselves in numerous categories such as speed, strength, agility, stiff arm, catch ability, throw power, etc. And then, the video game’s creators shared what their ratings for Madden 18 were going to be.

As expected, some of the reactions were priceless – including that of the Bears’ prized rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

Trubisky received an overall rating of 76 – a few points shy of the 82 rating he believed he deserved. Other quarterbacks in the video whose grades are revealed include DeShone Kizer (74) of the Cleveland Browns and Davis Webb (72) of the Giants.

As for Trubisky, EA Sports has the No. 2 overall pick in last April’s draft with better speed (83) and more agility (83) than what Trubisky put himself down for. On the other hand EA Sports and the Bears’ rookie didn’t see eye to eye on accuracy (EA had 80, while Trubisky gave himself a 93) or strength (Trubisky gave himself an 84, but the folks at EA Sports put him down at 71).

While that doesn’t seem great, I feel as if I’ve succeeded with lower-rated quarterbacks in Madden. Here’s hoping Trubisky plays well enough to force Madden into making some updates and some improved numbers on the grading scale.
