Things have changed for Zach Miller since a dislocating his knee in Week 8 while hauling in a touchdown grab that was ultimately taken away from him. But if there are any constants in Miller’s life, they have come in the form of love and football.
Miller returned to the Halas Hall podium for the first time since suffering a season-ending knee injury, one he revealed has required eight surgeries.
The 33-year-old tight end spoke with the assembled media for more than 20 minutes and discussed a variety of things. He shared the love he has been receiving since landing on injured reserve, telling reporters: “I learned there are still really good people in this world. There’s a whole bunch of negative stuff 24-7. I’ve been impacted by love.” He also explained how he has kept close to football with the help of video games, adding “I”m playing a lot of Madden; I need my football fix.”
On the health front, Miller told reporters his ACL, MCL, and PCL are “good” and while there is no timetable for the resumption of a normal life, he is confident it will happen.
