Jay Cutler was moving toward a new role in football at this time last year, one as a television analyst for FOX. A year later, things are lining up for Cutler to be back in the spotlight … as a reality television star. That is, of course, if he isn’t done playing football.
E! is rolling out promos for “Very Cavallari,” a reality show starring Cutler’s wife (Kristin Cavallari) that happen to reveal something that wasn’t previously known about the current job status of the former Chicago Bears quarterback.
When Cavallari asked Cutler if he is “100 percent done” playing football, the Bears’ all-time leader in pretty much every important passing category in franchise history refused to completely give up on the idea in the only way he knows how:
Who knows if Jay is 100% done with football ? But he better be 100% ready for boss babe @KristinCav! ? #VeryCavallari https://t.co/nWDZbtAbAJ pic.twitter.com/zZROyv40Kb

After stepping away from the game after being cut by the Bears early during the 2017 offseason, Cutler was all systems go on being a color analyst in a three-man booth for the NFL on FOX’s No. 2 broadcast team led by Kevin Burkhardt and Charles Davis. He was even going to be behind the mic during the nationally televised third preseason game between the Bears and Titans, as well as Chicago’s season opener against the Falcons. Instead, an ACL injury to Ryan Tannehill opened up a spot for Cutler to take one last shot at the NFL and reunite with Adam Gase in Miami.
I suppose a training camp injury could lead to another Cutler comeback this summer, which stands as reason enough for why Cutler prefers to keep his schedule clear in case something pops up. And if nothing does, at least he can fall back on being a TV star. Not a bad Plan B, if you ask me.
