Once in a while, I find myself falling down a rabbit hole of YouTube highlights. And when summer rolls around, I am definitely prone to stumbling down and getting caught up in Bears highlights during the slowest time of the year. But it seems like I am not alone here:

Bears rookie running back David Montgomery can’t stop watching Walter Payton highlights. I can’t blame him. Can you? Payton rushed for 16,726 yards, tacked on 4,538 receiving yards, and scored 125 rushing + receiving touchdowns. Let’s not forget about the 8 touchdown passes he threw, too.
There is something about a young player who digs into a franchise’s past that makes me gravitate toward that player. Love the game. Respect its history. Blaze your own path. That’s the ticket!

Even though Payton didn’t play in an era where highlights weren’t churned out as effortlessly as they are today, we are lucky enough to have some of his greatest hits at our fingertips. Enjoy, friends!
