The Chicago Bears’ kicking competition takes to the road for preseason Week 2, with the New York Giants playing host in an exhibition matchup between two of the NFL’s most storied franchises.
Soldier Field has long been a nuisance for kickers, but it has never been easy to kick out east, either. And while I can imagine it’s easier to kick in MetLife Stadium in the summer months, no one really knows what the winds could do at a given moment. With that said, this arena should provide a unique opportunity for either Eddy Piñeiro or Elliott Fry to do something to stand out from what has been a neck-and-neck race to this point.
Maybe both will kick well. That would be a welcome surprise. But if neither does well, then, yikes … I’m not looking forward to dealing with that possibility quite yet.
