The Bears won’t be starting four complete strangers next to Charles Leno Jr. along their offensive line when they take the field in Nashville on Sunday, because Germain Ifedi’s time on the reserve/COVID-19 list is over.

The team announced Ifedi has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Ifedi landed there in the first place after being designated as a high-risk close contact with reserve offensive lineman Jason Spriggs. But after clearing league protocols, Ifedi joins Leno as the only regular starters on the Bears’ offensive line for Sunday’s game against the Titans.
What the rest of the line looks like is still a mystery, and will be until game time. Chicago still has questions at left guard, center, and right tackle. Rashaad Coward figures to start at guard or tackle, while Alex Bars appears in line to start at center. This leaves Arlington Hambright and Lachavious Simmons as possibilities to start wherever Coward doesn’t. Considering where the state of the line was on Tuesday, this looks like an improvement.
In any case, the Bears are set to start a rookie seventh-rounder somewhere on their line on Sunday. But at least they won’t have to start both of them — well, not yet.
