With rookie minicamp opening on Friday, the timing was right to announce a wave of signings introducing some of the newest Bears.
The Bears announced a class of 15 new players, which features 12 undrafted free agent rookies and three first-year players. All in all, it’s a pretty neat group. In fact, we discussed a good chunk of them in a previous post.
Now, let’s check out some highlights!
Charles Snowden, OLB, Virginia
C.J. Marable, RB, Coastal Carolina
Caleb Johnson, LB, Houston Baptist
Brian Johnson, K, Virginia Tech

That’s right! The Bears are bringing in another kicker.
Now, don’t be alarmed by this development. Keep in mind that Matt Nagy expressed how he thought it was important to carry two kickers, with the extra being a “just in case” insurance policy. Based on the extension Chicago gave Cairo Santos this offseason, I don’t imagine Johnson supplanting the incumbent. But if the Vikings want to pull up with a fifth-round pick later this summer, then by all means, I’m all ears.
