Once again, Khalil Mack did not participate in a practice ahead of the Bears’ game on Sunday against the 49ers. In previous weeks, Mack not practicing was part of a maintenance plan put in place in order to keep him healthy for game day. But earlier in the week, it was reported the Bears were considering shutting Mack down to better heal his foot injury. And while Head Coach Matt Nagy said no decision was made regarding Mack’s future status, not practicing each of the last two days suggests he will be unavailable on Sunday.
Should Mack not play, it would further chip away at Chicago’s pass-rush depth. Not only did the team already lose Jeremiah Attaochu to a season-ending pectoral injury, Robert Quinn remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. In other words, the Bears could be without their top three pass-rushing outside linebackers. Gulp!
If push comes to shove, the Bears can roll out Trevis Gipson and Christian Jones at the outside linebacker positions. Or maybe we’ll see something Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai has yet to roll out. The intrigue is not lost on me.
Here’s the rest of the injury report:

It’s good to see “full” next to the names of Allen Robinson II, Bilal Nichols, J.P. Holtz, and Jakeem Grant. Sam Kamara is a new addition to the injury report because of a knee issue, but was a full participant.
In the end, it looks like everyone on the Bears injury report is trending in the right direction. Well, except for the obvious.
