Ryan Poles is Checking Out the Talent at Today’s Ohio State-Northwestern Game

Even after a busy week ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline, there is no rest for Ryan Poles as he continues to go about building the Chicago Bears in his vision.

Next stop: Evanston and the campus of Northwestern University. That’s where the Ohio State Buckeyes will play the Wildcats. and where he’ll see a ton of pro prospects. And if you’re looking for potential Bears fits, there will be no shortage of talent on display.

I’m sure we’ll all have some rational tweets after seeing this:

Outside of Stroud, there is still a bunch of high end talent I’d consider drool-worthy:

  • OT Peter Skoronski (NU)
  • OT Paris Johnson Jr. (OSU)
  • WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (OSU)
  • EDGE Zach Harrison (OSU)
  • OT Dawand Jones (OSU)
  • All in all, that is six top-50 prospects from Dane Brugler’s midseason update at The Athletic. And with Northwestern’s campus being just down the road from Halas Hall, this makes for a convenient scouting trip for Poles.

Here’s hoping the first-year Bears GM is taking copious notes.
