The Eddie Jackson Revenge Tour didn’t play for the entire season, but it played the hits before it came to a close.
Jackson, who suffered a foot injury serious enough to land him on injured reserve, is out for the rest of the year:
It is unknown if Jackson will need foot surgery to repair the injury. Regardless of the need for surgery, Jackson’s 2022 campaign has come to an end. And what a year it was for the 28-year-old Alabama product.
Jackson had four interceptions, two forced fumbles, 59 solo tackles (his most since 2020), and a tackle-for-loss on his stat sheet. But more than that, Jackson was growing into a leadership role that had him speaking out as a vocal leader and someone who earned a captain’s “C” on his chest for his efforts. It was a bounce-back year in more ways than one for Jackson. Obviously, we see the production. But the Bears’ deployment of Jackson had him more involved defensively than he had been in years. The guy had leveled up. He was feeling as good as he had been since 2018. And perhaps it is one reason he was the NFC’s leading vote-getter in Pro Bowl tallies for free safeties. Which makes it a real shame to see his season come to an end due to an injury on an awful playing surface in New Jersey.
