Justin Fields Has the Top-Selling Jersey at Lids Stores in Illinois, Indiana, *AND* Wisconsin
It spreads.
I can’t say I blame football fans for not being able to get enough of Justin Fields. Especially after a 2022 season in which he made development strides as a quarterback, set the Bears’ franchise record for rushing yards by a QB, and put up some ridiculous highlights. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Fields’ jersey is a top seller.
But what is the most interesting to me is that Fields’ popularity crosses state lines. Because not only is Fields’ jersey the top-seller in Illinois (where the Bears play), it is also getting bought up in droves to the east in Indiana and up north in Wisconsin.
The Fields empire is expanding right before our eyes, and you can get your own here.
This deserves clarification that this data was *AT* Lids locations. This isn’t some league-wide discovery. And it doesn’t include other shops or vendors who sell jerseys. But on the other hand, it is still remarkable to see Fields do numbers.
Nevertheless, the fan support Fields is receiving is something else. It’s almost as if Bears fans have been thirsting for a quarterback to root for based on how these jerseys are getting scooped. And, hey, if quarterback instability in Indiana (with the Colts’ issues, this makes sense) and Wisconsin (the cheesedoodles have to be tired of Aaron Rodgers’ song and dance) is helping push Fields’ popularity, then I find that to be pretty neat. Here’s to that support continuing. Next up? How about flipping bordering states such as Minnesota, Missouri, and Iowa? Heck, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho don’t have a top rep. Perhaps Fields can expand his empire out west. A Fields worldwide takeover can’t be too far behind. Can it?
