I’ve long been looking forward to the day where Green Bay isn’t led into Chicago by a Hall of Fame QB. And I know I’m not alone. In Week 1, we’ll get our chance.
How does a Week 1 showdown against Green Bay sound to you?
The NFL’s schedule release won’t drop officially until 7 PM CT, but Packers reporter Matt Schneidman is already sharing Green Bay’s schedule via a source. And in doing so, has revealed two pieces of the Bears’ scheduling puzzle.
Now, THIS is what I’m talking about! The NFL’s longest-running rivalry getting the Week 1 treatment in the prime afternoon spot is as good as it gets. If you listened to last night’s Bears After Dark show on CHGO, I was basically begging for this Week 1 matchup. And why not?
The best time to get after the Packers is Week 1. Give Jordan Love his first taste of a tough road environment with a rabid crowd at Soldier Field. Think T.J. Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds won’t be jacked up for their Bears debuts against an arch rival. Unleash the new weaponry at Justin Fields’ disposal, including DJ Moore’s Bears debut. This has the potential to be a perfect Week 1. Make a statement that the past is over and the future is here. Let it be known that you won’t be bullied by Cheesedoodles no more. Can we hit the fast forward button? I’m itching to get to it.
I can’t believe we won’t have to wait long at all to get our first look at an Aaron Rodgersless Packers squad. Credit the NFL’s scriptwriters. They’re starting off strong.
Here’s the first piece of the scheduling puzzle, per Schneidman:
