This should have been game number 1,001 for Patrick Kane in his NHL career, but due to scheduling conflicts earlier in the season, tonight is game No. 1,000.
Unfortunately, it cannot be at the United Center, but rather in Dallas, as the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Dallas Stars. It’s been a month since the Stars and Blackhawks met, and both teams have been heading in opposite directions since.
Chicago has gone 9-4-1 since February 7th and Dallas has a 2-6-4 record in that same stretch. The Blackhawks enter tonight sitting in fourth-place in the Central Division based on points (31) and points percentage (.596), while the Stars are in seventh on points (19) and sixth based on points percentage (.475).

What To Watch For
• You’re going to hear all about it tonight, if you’re not already sick of hearing about it for the past day and a half, but it is Patrick Kane’s 1,000th career NHL game tonight. The 350th player in league history to reach that mark and the seventh player to play 1,000 games in a Blackhawks uniform in franchise history. He is the youngest player in franchise history (32 years, 110 days) to reach 1,000 games played. Kane enters the game as the second-highest scorer in the NHL (38 points), behind only Connor McDavid, and is riding a four-game point streak. He has points in six of his last seven games against the Stars.
• Alex DeBrincat has 12 points over his last nine games, having an eight-game point streak snapped on Sunday against the Lightning. DeBrincat is second on the Blackhawks in scoring behind Kane with 28 points in 22 games this season. He is ninth in the league in scoring and his 14 goals this season ranks him third in the league behind Connor McDavid and Tyler Toffoli with 15 goals, and league-leader Auston Matthews with 18 goals. DeBrincat has 10 points in 13 career games against Dallas.
• Malcolm Subban gets the start for the Blackhawks tonight. Subban is 4-2-1 this season in seven starts, he has earned at least a point in five of his last six starts (4-1-1) and has a .933 save percentage over that span. Subban is coming off a shootout win over the Lightning in his last start for Chicago and with a solid performance in net tonight, could re-open the starting goalie competition between him and Kevin Lankinen.
Get Caught Up …
Malcolm Subban will start tonight vs. Dallas. Rest of lineup TBD. #Blackhawks

Colliton on the Stars: "I'm sure they're approaching it like this is their chance to pull us back and get within striking distance. We have to be ready to match their desperation."

"There's a difference. There's still a live energy to it. … So, of course, you like it. It's a big game for us. TO have however many people are there to watch it we'll welcome it."

John Klingberg on Patrick Kane's 1,000th game: "He’s just a really good player and when he has the puck on his stick you have to be aware. You have to be aware when he’s on the ice all the time. It’s going to be fun to play against him and big congratulations to him." #Blackhawks
