It finally happened. And this time, it counted.
Jonathan Toews’ career-long 25-game stretch without a goal to begin the season is over. With a powerplay goal in the second period of Thursday night’s contest against the Montreal Canadiens, Toews ended his goal-drought and gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead at the time.

The weight of not scoring a goal yet this season has clearly been heavy on Toews. From his words to his body language, you could tell all season that the 33-year-old Captain was going through possibly the most difficult stretch of his career. Hopefully this is the first of many and the floodgates can open for Toews and the rest of the team moving forward this season.
