As the NHL continues to see COVID cases rise within the league, and nearly one-third of teams being shut down through the Holidays, the Chicago Blackhawks had been relatively safe through this past week. But now, they join the growing list of issues as defenseman Calvin de Haan has been placed in COVID protocol.

Last playing on December 15, de Haan had been away from the club due to what was called a non-COVID illness for the past few days. Now he enters league protocols.
Calvin de Haan is now in COVID protocol for the Blackhawks.
The Hawks had been one of just 9 teams without a player in COVID protocol. Not anymore. Now they just must hope it somehow doesn't spread beyond him.
