With the conclusion of pool play at the World Juniors on Monday night, the quarterfinal matchups are all set for Wednesday. There will be four games in one day in Edmonton, and (once again) the United States got shafted with the late night game.
All five of the Blackhawks’ prospects in the tournament advanced to the quarterfinals, so there will be three teams to keep an eye on while the games are in action Wednesday.
Canada and the United States ran the table in their groups, earning the top seeds on either end of the bracket. They’ll face the respective four seeds on Wednesday. As a reminder: all of these games will air live on NHL Network.
Here’s the schedule:
The Blackhawks don’t have any prospects in this game.
Victor Stjernborg will skate for Sweden.
Ethan Del Mastro will skate for Sweden.
Landon Slaggert, Dominic James and Wyatt Kaiser will skate for the United States.
